1. Data controller

2. Data we collect

• Account data: full name or company name, email address, phone number, account type, password (stored only as a cryptographic hash).
• Verification data: TIN, business registration (BRELA) details, business licence, award letter, physical address and the identity details of the authorised representative.
• Tender file data: sector, contract value, funding required, preferred deal structure, project duration, client and supporting documents.
• Investor profile data: available capital, ticket range, target sectors, funding models, risk appetite and visibility preference.
• Payment data: the mobile money number used, the amount, currency, payment status, order reference and the provider's transaction reference. We never see or store your mobile money PIN.
• Technical data: aggregated visit counts, device and browser information, and security logs.

3. Why we use it

• To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
• To verify businesses and documents before a tender file is published or a funding profile is approved.
• To take payment of platform fees and to grant the access you paid for.
• To send service messages by email and SMS (verification, review outcome, payment confirmation).
• To detect fraud, meet anti-money-laundering obligations and comply with Tanzanian law.

4. Lawful basis

We process data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal and regulatory obligations (including AML/KYC and tax record keeping), and for our legitimate interest in operating a safe marketplace. Where consent is required, for example marketing messages, we ask for it separately and you may withdraw it at any time.

5. Who we share it with

• Payment service providers (licensed mobile money aggregators) to initiate and confirm your payment.
• Communication providers used to send transactional email and SMS.
• Our hosting and database provider, which stores the platform data under contract.
• Investors who have paid to unlock a specific tender file receive the identity and document details of that tender file only.
• Competent authorities, regulators or courts where required by law.

We never sell personal data and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

6. Privacy of tender files

Explorers and signed-out visitors see only sector, contract value, funding required, preferred deal and project duration. Company identity, client identity, summary, milestones and attached documents remain hidden until an investor pays the access fee for that tender file.

7. Retention

Account and tender file data is kept while your account is active. Verification and payment records are kept for at least seven years after the last transaction to satisfy Tanzanian tax and anti-money-laundering record-keeping requirements. After that, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS, passwords are hashed, database access is restricted by row-level security policies, and document storage is private and access-controlled. Administrative actions are recorded in an audit log.

9. Your rights

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion, subject to our legal retention obligations.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent for optional messages.

10. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage for sign-in sessions and for your language and currency preference on the legal pages. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
